“We are working closely with the designers to create a high-quality facility that responds to range of customer requirements including our business customers, with super-fast WiFi and a dedicated working zone.
“Customers will be able to enjoy panoramic views of the runway, with an excellent range of food and drink on offer – we look forward to unveiling more information in the coming months, including the name.”The new lounge has been specifically designed by North East-based company, Ward Robinson, to be a comfortable yet luxurious communal space - providing a sense of calm.
The luxury space will be the airport’s third executive lounge, alongside the Aspire Lounge and the BA Lounge.Passengers will be able to pre-book access into the lounge from January 2020 via the Newcastle Airport website or the NCL Airport App.
Councillor Iain Malcolm, Leader of South Tyneside Council and Chair of the LA7 shareholders, added: "Through this new development, the Airport is showing that the focus at the heart of its strategy is to put passengers first and create the best possible customer experience.
“The new lounge is evidence that the Airport is constantly investing and going from strength to strength – whilst at the same time generating millions of pounds for the local economy. This type of investment is the reason that Newcastle International Airport has been voted named the ‘Best Airport’ for two years running.”
